Doctoral Candidates (DCs)

PANIONS network brings together various laboratories and researchers to explore the fundamental science of anions and exclusively supports the PhD student’s exposure to various Lab environments for the student learning through secondments, community discussions and so on to build the expertise.

DC9: State-selective anion-cation reactions

Stockholm University (SU)

Myself Rejila Janoharan. I have done my PG degree in Physics at the S.T. Hindu College, India. From June 2023, I had been working in a collaborative project between Indian Institute of Space science and Technology (IIST) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), where I was involved in development, testing, implementation of plasma and beam diagnostics for Hall effect thruster development. Also, IIST is developing the onboard plasma thruster diagnostics module for India’s first major electric propulsion-based satellite. My responsibilities include, integration, testing and validation of the diagnostics probes for the satellite using home-built plasma and beam sources and high vacuum test facility at IIST. In parallel, I have developed very keen interest in the study of molecular dynamics of astrophysical importance using different mass and electron spectroscopy techniques. At IIST, I have got an opportunity to support the instrumentation development and operation of Velocity Map Imaging (VMI) spectrometer with VUV source and nanosecond pulsed laser source for specific organic molecules along with time-of-flight measurements. In this work I have gained experience in the assembly, testing and operational of position sensitive MCP detector as well as extensive simulation of ion trajectories of the spectrometer using SIMION and so on.
